This past weekend the family and I went to a Kentucky Derby party. It was my first time of actually watching the race.We all put money down on which horse we thought would win. My horse was so close to getting first. Luckily he got second so no complaints there ;)
Hope everyone had a great past weekend. Oh here are our versions of Kentucky Derby Hats ;)
It is a dreary and I refuse to throw on my staple jeans and be lazy. So
I searched through my closet and picked out these
teal shorts and a simple white shirt. Fun yet effortless.
When I looked in the mirror I
felt like my outfit had a slight preppy feel to it. And I thought (insert think
bubble here) why not top this outfit off with some pearls and boat shoes. Since I don’t have boat shoes anymore I settled for my penny loafers and called it
a day.
How do you pick the final touches
for your outfits?
For the past 4 days it has been raining nonstop. So like any lazy person
I have been loving the fact that I can curl up on the couch and just relax aka nap. Yes I
am one of those avid nappers. Sadly that time has come where I have to leave
the house, so I decided to not let the gloomy weather win.
I thought a nice coral skirt would be a great way to put a little color
in the day. The white shirt probably wasn’t the best decision but hey that’s why I carry an
umbrella with me everywhere. Oh and of course I had to have my flip flops on because
this pretty lady was not going to ruin one of her nice shoes on a rainy day.
A couple of weeks ago I was out shopping and wasn’t finding anything. I
was feeling slightly defeated, that is until I stumbled upon this LOVELY hot pink
button down. I am absolutely in love with it. One small problem I have yet to
wear it.
I don’t know about you guys but I am one of those people who likes to
save outfits for that“perfect” event. Well I realized that with this top it is just a shame
to keep it hidden in my closet. So I put together two different outfits.
The first outfit I like to call my “fancy” outfit. I pulled out my pencil skirt that I haven’t worn in forever, and threw on my favorite heels. Voila! An outfit that I
can’t wait to wear.
The second version is more casual. Throw on my staple jeans, statement
necklace and a nice pair of heels. Then BAM feeling like a feisty sexy woman!
I heard this song in a commercial and since then I just cant get enough of it.
I know yesterday I blabbed on about unexpected finds at Walmart. As
usual I was so excited to share one piece of the outfit with you I completely forgot to
share my other wonderfully unexpected find…. Drum roll please. The maxi skirt. I
found it at Old Navy and I just absolutely fell in love with it that I couldn't just walk away with one color. So I had to get 2, the black one I showcased
yesterday and this outstanding cobalt blue. They also sold it in a grey but I wasn't feeling that color on me.
When I put together this outfit, I just felt like it completely encompassed
a fun summer day. Luckily it was a perfectly sunny day when I wore so it only enhanced the
outfitand my mood. :)
I don’t know about you, but I’m not a huge Walmart clothes buyer but
recently I have been finding some items there that I just cant get enough of. For example I
found a pair of flared (my favorite kind) of jeans, I just cant stop wearing
them. Also I found a wonderful dress. (pictures of these to come soon.)
In todays post I will be showcasing a lovely neon pink top that I found
at Walmart. I just love it. I think it'll be perfect for summer. Especially with my wonderfully summery bronzed
skin and sun kissed hair. Its gonna look fab!
During these 8 long months, I decided to make a decision. That decision
to was to make myself look the way I feel inside. I’ve
been told numerous times from people that their first impression of me is a
fun, loving, bubbly person. Well when I looked in the mirror that is not what I
saw.
You may know that saying the
freshman 15? Well this lovely lady gained way more than 15, quite frankly it
felt like 50.So since deciding to leave
college, I have also made the executive decision to lose weight.
That’s right I am actually doing what I promised myself I would do for
my New Years resolution. It felt good to finally do something for myself. So over the past 8 months I have been working
out like a mad woman and eating as healthy as possible.
Accompanying today's OOTD is an older photo to show you what I've accomplished so far.

Before you leave here are some motivating quotes I found while surfing the web :)
I would love to hear if you have any tips or tricks on staying healthy. :)
While I was packing my things up for a second time, I realized how much
clothing I had. It was ridiculous and that’s putting it lightly! So like any good clothes
hording female I took days and days and oh did I say days to finally decide
what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to donate.
To my dismay my SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed: aka Mom) got me to keep
these cargo pants. I swore up and down that you would never catch me in them.
Well as you can see I am clearly eating my words. I am in LOVE with these
pants. They are so comfy, they’re in a fabilious color and if I choose I don’t need
a purse.
I
guess that saying that she always told is true ;) “Moms know best”
Wow 8 months flies by!! It feels like just yesterday I was telling you all that I was telling you all that I was packing and heading off back to
college. Well now I’m back, I’ve packed and unpacked my things for a second time
(hopefully the last for a little bit.) Well seeing as I am back the first thing
that crossed my mind was blogging. I’m not gonna lie I was nervous to start
writing and posting again. It sorta feels like the first time again. Ive been
contemplating posting for a few months now and I finally bit the figurative bullet
and started writing.
Within these last few months my style has started to evolve and with that comes the fun of learning how to style and accessorize my outfits.
I'd love to hear how you've been the past few months :)
